I’ve been a fan of Urban Armor Gear cases for a long time now and for the most part, I’ve always had one of their cases for my daily use phones. It wasn’t until the LG V60 ThinQ that I had to use something else because UAG didn’t have a case for it at launch. Fast forward several months and I finally got my hands on the UAG Scout Series case for my LG V60 ThinQ. This is the same type of case I ran on my LG V50 ThinQ and I’m glad to see that everything I loved about that case is present here on this one.
The Scout Series case from UAG is their more modern-looking case featuring a minimalist look that doesn’t compromise protection. It’s made of smooth, light-weight TPU and gives your case a sleek look while also being rugged and tough. The edges of the case have a non-slip ruggedized texture for better grip as well as raised screen surround for better front protection. The Scout also meets military drop-test standards (MIL STD 810G 516.6).
Like all UAG cases I’ve looked at before, I really like how solid this case feels. The materials they use are flexible, but when it’s on, it’s very stiff and rigid. That lets you know that it isn’t going anywhere once it’s on. The added rough textures give a nice, tactile feel that really helps with hand grip and makes the LG V60 ThinQ much easier to hold. All the necessary holes are also in place for all the ports, speakers, and mics as well and all the buttons are covered up for added protection, but can still be used properly. The Scout is also compatible with wireless chargers.
Are there any negatives? Well, the case still only comes in black, so those wanting colors will be disappointed. Also I”m wondering why the cutout for the rear camera unit is larger than what I’ve seen on other cases for the LG V60 ThinQ.
FINAL THOUGHTS
Like all previous Urban Armor Gear cases before it, I am not disappointed at all. UAG continues the trend of making very good rugged cases that not only look good but also provide the protection you’re looking for. The only negative I see is that the case doesn’t come in any other colors other than black, so if you’re looking for something flashy, this isn’t it. However, those that want a rugged case for their LG V60 ThinQ, but don’t want that rugged look should consider the Scout Series from UAG.
