The Adventures of Pip is a side-scrolling action platformer with a very unique gameplay feature. You play as the hero Pip, a 1-bit character living in a 32-bit world. It’s up to Pip to save the kingdom and rescue the princess. You do so by absorbing pixels, allowing Pip to transform into 3 different forms, each with their own unique abilities.
I’ve already been playing the game for the past week so look for a full review soon. In the meantime, check out the official trailer below.
PIXEL KINGDOM – AUGUST 18, 2015 – Tic Toc Games is pleased to announce that Adventures of Pip, their flagship side-scrolling action platformer has been released today on PlayStation 4 in North America. The game retails for $14.99 USD and joins the previously released Wii U, Steam and iOS versions along with the upcoming Xbox One version on August 21st.
Who’s Pip? He’s the unlikely 1-pixel hero coming to save the 32-bit world. Despite being born a block and nothing more, Pip never saw his size as a disadvantage. By absorbing pixels from his fallen foes, Pip evolves into three different forms, each with its own unique abilities.
Pip’s journey to save the Pixel Kingdom’s hi-res rulers and lo-res peasants takes our hero through five stylized worlds, lush with daring obstacles and fierce monsters. Enjoy 10 hours of epic adventuring set to the tunes of the music maestro, Jake “virt” Kaufman, composer for Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse, Bloodrayne: Betrayal, Shovel Knight. The game’s concept owes its origins to the imagination of Marc Gomez, art director of A Boy and His Blob, BloodRayne: Betrayal, and animation director on Contra 4.
The developers are Tic Toc Games, an indie studio by name with anything but an indie-background. They’ve hailed from great companies far and wide, including WayForward, Disney, Nickelodeon, and Sony. But it is thanks to the 2,500+ Kickstarter backers that made it possible to flex their wildest imaginations to create their own original title.
